The beautiful sweeping lines on this 1954 Mercury XM-800 is so sleek it is almost like a dream . . . that is to say a dream car. That is because it is! The XM-800 was a concept car that appeared in the Detroit Auto Show in 1954. Based off the Mercury Monterey chassis, and body panels built out of fiberglass, this one of a kind concept car was truly a show car; it even appeared in a 1950’s movie titled, “Women’s World”. With the debut popularity, Ford intended to add the XM-800 to its line of production cars but instead began producing a new line, the Edsel. The XM-800 will forever be one of a kind.
