1958 Ford Fairlane 500 Skyliner Retractable Hardtop

A 265bhp, 332c.i. V8 Interceptor Engine lives in one of the few historic convertibles ever mass-produced. Between the years 1957-1959, Ford Motor Company produced the first mass-produced retractable hardtops that the world has ever seen. This hardtop claimed to retract in an astonishing 25 seconds with the help of 610 feet of wiring, 10 solenoids, and 7 high-torque electric motors that did the work behind the scenes. With a wheelbase of 118”, this baby is long with beautiful straight lines that accent the curvature of the rear fins; truly captures the “tailfin era” of the late 50’s.
